Lightning Strikes Twice Today at Dreamforce

Following a Hawaiian blessing and surprise performance from Stevie Wonder, Salesforce co-founder Parker Harris brought us up to speed with Lightning at today’s Dreamforce keynote. While donning a lightning suit for his ‘Lightning Man’ persona, he told an excited Marc Benioff that it’s the biggest thing Salesforce has done since the company started.

The long-awaited Salesforce Lightning is enabling customers to build and customize connected applications fast with drag and drop tools. They can use the free learning platform Trailhead to improve their Salesforce app building skills and easily take advantage of more than 50 pre-built Lightning Exchange components on the AppExchange. The new Lightning Experience interface not only speeds up sales processes, but can also be used to create apps. In fact, Salesforce has already built two vertical apps with Lightning. Very exciting!

And over at NewVoiceMedia, we’re also excited to launch our lightning component which users can access from the AppExchange, to improve the way they work with Salesforce and ultimately sell more, service better and grow faster.

Presented as an interactive timeline for contact engagement which displays all interactions, both inbound and outbound, sales reps will benefit from a full view of a prospect’s activity, which allows a better understanding of them and their motivations. They’ll also be able to see at a glance if a prospect is ‘hot’ or ‘cold’.

And customer service agents will be able to instantly view a customer’s past interactions to develop a greater engagement with them and provide a superior customer experience as a result. Imagine that you could see at a glance that a customer emailing in had recently called. You then click on the link to discover that they were calling about renewing their membership. Knowing this, you can provide an excellent customer experience by being fully informed about the customer and their requirements. How does that sound?
